WORLD TRADE CENTER |
| It's a typical bright winter's day in New York.
You're on the top of the World Trade Center and the world is at your feet. Take a
look around. Moving counter-clockwise, the first landmark you'll recognize is the Brooklyn Bridge, spanning the East River, and just north of it the Manhattan Bridge. Keep moving left to see uptown Manhattan and then the twin tower of the WTC. Now the Hudson River lies below you, with New Jersey on the far side. You'll notice two islands - Ellis Island and Liberty Island. (The Statue of Liberty seems smaller than it really is, because of the wide angle perspective. You can zoom in a little with the cntrl key, but the image pixellates at a certain point. Zoom out with the caps key. * We have a nice panorama we shot on Liberty Island that we'll put up soon.) Beyond lies Staten Island, and lost in the sun's glare, the Verrazano Bridge. Nearby Governers Island is also caught in the sun. That boat immediatly to the right of it is the Staten Island Ferry, sailing towards the city. The buildings directly below you are the towers of Wall Street and downtown Manhattan. That's Brooklyn on the far side of the East River. We're back where we started, hope you enjoyed it. |
